Adventure (Alec's Epilogue)
September 3rd 2014
Middle of nowhere
Way too late in the evening to be broken down...

If somebody had asked Alec several years ago if he ever thought for one moment that he'd find himself stranded on the side of the road with a massive husky pawing at the less than road worthy tyre on the left axel, one spacey friend in the backseat high on several bags of sweets whilst the other spent his time cursing the lack of cellphone reception, his answer would have been simple: No.

And yet here he was, smack dab in the middle of that very same predicament.

He was just waiting for the inevitable "this is all your fault!" because he had been the one to suggest a road trip with friends and distances that he should have known better than to try, he wasn't exactly the most... manly of men when it came to... car engines and other such... complicated endeavours.

Oh, how he missed his bike already.

"This is not my fault," he hollered over his shoulder as he could already feel Toby's eyes burning a hole in his back. "You could have said no!" And he could have, totally. Nevermind about the fact that Alec kept up with the massive puppy dog eyes until Toby said yes, that was totally irrelevant. Jenny had been way easier to convince.

What? Alec had an unconscious desire for more freedom and he'd gotten it in the form of a very long sabbatical, he wanted to spend it doing something... adventurous.

Life was for living after all.

Now if he could only convince Toby that skydiving was in fact the greatest idea since... well, sliced bread.
